The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently adopted the Clean Power Plan – the nation’s strongest attempt yet to tackle climate change. The Clean Power Plan requires states to adopt and implement plans to reduce carbon pollution from power plants by 2030.
The Pope’s visit to Washington D.C. this week underscores the urgency of the problem and our moral obligation to address climate change. Unfortunately some people don’t agree. Governor Bullock is under intense pressure to oppose the Clean Power Plan and sue the Environmental Protection Agency to block the new rule. Some opponents of the Clean Power Plan have even gone so far as to misrepresent the Governor’s position in opinion editorials.
It is time to tell the Governor you stand with him in his effort to address climate change. Our future depends on his continued leadership. Please tell him to stand strong and ignore the opposition’s deceptive tactics. Montana’s families, economy, and health depend on it.
