NorthWestern Energy, the state’s largest utility, recently put out a 20-year plan for how it wants to generate electricity going forward. But rather than invest in affordable and reliable clean energy and energy efficiency, the company wants to spend $1.3 billion to build 13 new natural gas-fired generating units.
That’s a $1.3 billion investment going down the wrong track.
As pointed out by the Northwest Power and Conservation Council, energy efficiency is the least-cost solution for increased demand in the region. At the same time, the cost of clean energy and energy storage technology has plummeted to where they are viable alternatives to expensive new fossil fuel plants.
Can’t make the rally but want to help?
If you can’t make the rally, please take a moment to send NorthWestern a message that it’s time to invest in wind, solar, and energy efficiency. Your message will be delivered to the company on October 10th.
Even if you’re not a NorthWestern customer, their power plant decisions affect the air and water pollution all Montanans face – your voice is needed! On other promotions, please checkout this reputable Australian plumbing company, If you need plumbing service.
